What it is for

A wall rack is bought because long-handled tools have no drawer. What decides whether it works is the hook spacing and the rail section: hooks spaced for shovels will not hold a screwdriver, and a rail that flexes between two fixings will drop the heaviest tool first.

These are listed by hook count and rail length, with the fixings at the ends rather than in the middle. Hang it, load the heaviest tool first, and check the rail is still straight — if it bows, the fixing centres are too far apart for the load.

80 cm rail with 8 hooks in carbon steel with a black powder coat finish, fixing holes at both ends and a lipped rail section that resists bowing under load. The hooks take shovels, rakes and cable reels as well as hand tools.
