What it is for

The lever is the tool that decides whether a tyre change is a ten-minute job or a fight: a rounded, flexible lever slips off the bead and takes a knuckle with it, while a forged lever with a rolled tip lifts the bead and keeps it lifted. Buy the length to suit the tyre — a 500 mm lever is right for a van tyre and unwieldy on a motorcycle rim.

The other two tools solve the jobs the lever cannot. A bead spreader holds the tyre open so both hands are free to place the valve or the plug, and a stem puller draws a snap-in valve through the rim without damaging the rubber — pulling a stem by hand or with pliers is how a new valve is ruined before it is seated.

Specification detail

Tyre Bead Spreader in chrome vanadium steel, black powder coat, for tubeless tyre fitting. Levers are forged with a rolled, non-marring tip and a curved profile for lifting the bead; the spreader and the puller are sized for the standard rim hole used on car and van wheels.
