What it is for

A drawer cabinet is bought for one reason: so that the tool you need is in the drawer you open, not in a pile on the bench. What separates a cabinet that survives a workshop from one that does not is the slide and the frame — a loaded drawer is a lever, and a light slide sags and then jams within a season.

Order by drawer count, because that is the number that decides the job: two drawers for the day-to-day tools beside a bench, seven or eight for a full workshop set. Every cabinet lists its overall width and its load rating, so you check it against the gap you are putting it in rather than against a photograph.
