ProFix 1/2 in to 3/4 in Torque Adaptor, chrome vanadium steel

What it is for

An adaptor is the cheapest way to make one torque wrench cover two drive sizes, and it is also the easiest place to lose accuracy: a sloppy fit adds a few degrees of wind-up that the wrench then reads as torque. These are machined to a close fit and hardened through, so the extension stays rigid rather than springy under load.

Going from a 1/2 in drive to 3/4 in, the wrench still reads at the socket, so the figure on the scale is the figure at the fastener — there is no correction factor to apply. Keep the joint clean and dry: grease inside a square drive is how an adaptor starts reading short.
