What it is for
Microfibre is sold by weight as much as by count, and the grammage is the number that predicts how a cloth behaves: a 300 gsm cloth lifts dust but holds little water, while a 600 gsm cloth holds far more and is the one for wiping a car dry without streaks. A 30-pack of the lighter cloth is right for bulk cleaning; it is the wrong cloth for drying.
All of these are microfibre with a lockstitched edge, so the backing does not fray in the wash, and they are machine-washable without softener. The glass cloths are woven finer and lint-free for panes and screens; the drying towel is one large cloth rather than several small ones, because one big cloth that does not touch the ground beats three small ones.
Specification detail
5 microfibre cloths at 600 gsm, 40 × 40 cm, with a lockstitched edge and an 80/20 polyester-polyamide blend. Machine-washable at 60 °C without fabric softener; the fine-weave and plush variants use the same blend at different pile heights.
