What it is for

A cabinet hinge is specified by its cup diameter and its overlay, and both have to match the door you already own. The 35 mm cup is the European standard; what varies is how far the door covers the cabinet side, which is set by the plate and not by the hinge arm.

Soft-close is a piston in the hinge body, not a separate damper, so it either works on every door or is a nuisance on a light one. Buy by the number of doors: two hinges for a small cabinet door, four for a full-height one, and ten or twenty when a whole kitchen is being re-hung.

4 hinges with a 35 mm cup, in carbon steel with a nickel plated finish. Cup depth and screw holes follow the standard pattern, so they replace existing hinges without re-drilling; the base plate is adjustable in two directions for overlay.
