Fasteners & Fixings

Fixings are bought in assortments because the alternative is three trips for one wall plug. The kits here are organised by size in a lidded case, with the quantity printed on the compartment, so reordering is a matter of reading the lid rather than counting the remainder.

Every fixing is listed with its material, coating and the substrate it is intended for: masonry anchors for brick and block, plasterboard plugs with a metal toggle for hollow walls, self-drilling screws for sheet metal. Choosing the wrong fixing is how shelves come off walls — tell us the substrate if you are unsure.
